Table
Belgian beech (Fagus sylvatica) and raw earth
2024
425 L x 63 / 20 H cm, 150 kg
Catena binds soil from the region to rough slabs of wood, so that raw earth and grain are read together. Each table keeps the original shape and figure of the piece it came from, and each one is therefore its own. Wood and earth are both gathered around Brussels, the beech chosen among fallen trees of the Forêt de Soignes, a forest known for the stature of its trees.
