Natura Fovet, Brussels
Table
Belgian beech (Fagus sylvatica) and mycelium (Ganoderma)
2026
185 L x 87 W x 75 H cm

A table made by two species. The legs are two large slabs of beech from the Forêt de Soignes, worked in a gradient: planed and finished at the foot, then rough from the saw, then given over, toward the top, to the slow work of decay. There the mycelium of Ganoderma, a fungus gathered in the same forest, has grown into the wood and through a substrate of sawdust and shavings from the atelier, binding the parts without nail, screw or glue. Assembly becomes growth.

Natura Fovet, nature nurtures. The maker who once imposed form on matter here learns to cultivate: the craft lies in giving the living material a frame and letting it complete the work. The table was first shown at Private Choice in Paris, facing the Louvre, in October 2026.

Design and woodwork: Sonian.
Mycelium cultivation: Permafungi.
